Presidents Day Again: Four More Years!

Yes, citizens. 2015 is the fourth year for my Presidents Day Twitter extravaganza. I hope you’ll consider electing me for a second term. If you haven’t been paying attention for the last three, you can grab up the memories from 2012 and 2013– collect them all! Below are the highlights from last year, you little President junkie, you.

This is a Human Being

10426543_10152857462097390_840149706493974154_nThis is a human being. This is a person convicted of no crime. This is someone’s son. This is a loss. This is a death that will receive no trial.

Trials are how our justice system resolves questions about what happened, whether a crime was committed. Instead, under cover of darkness, a man stood and announced that no one would ask those questions. That there were no questions to be asked.

I have questions. The life of a human being has been taken. He will receive no trial as victim or accused. He is gone. A human being is gone forever. We should all ask the questions that the system refuses to ask. We should all mourn.
