A brief record of the past few nights’ sleep:
Sunday- Off to bed at 12:30 a.m.
Monday- Awake at 6:00 a.m. to head off to work. To bed at 1:30 a.m. after Game 5 of the Stanley Cup goes into triple overtime.
Tuesday: Awake at 5:00 a.m. with evil death heartburn. To bed at 11:15 pm. Woken by the fiance’ at 11:30 pm to let me know he was going out to play pool with the guys. Back to sleep.
Wednesday: The fiance’ kisses me goodnight at 4:00 a.m. when he decides to go to bed. My eyes close. By 4:18 am I accept that I am now wide awake and keep him up to amuse me while I get ready for work.
This afternoon: Home from work and the grocery store at 6:15 pm. Whip up chili for the Pens game and a spread of good feta dip and fresh baked and toasted bread from Monday’s farmer’s market. Snack. Spend some grown up time (wink, wink). Start to doze off at 7:30 pm.
8:00 pm Wide awake. The Pens are on (currently losing). If they insist on going into triple overtime again, I may officially start losing brain cells from lack of sleep.
